1. Job Purpose
Co-ordinate and delivery of goods to ensure the customer are in receipt of the correct products in a timely and effective manor.
4. Principal Accountabilities
Collect the delivery & signature documents to perform daily duties effectively.
Complete safety checks on the vehicle, container and tools before driving the vehicle to ensure they meet with health & safety regulations.
Clean the vehicle to maintain the corporate standards.
Load provisions onto the containers to complete orders.Perishable Goods only
Input, monitor and compile tachograph equipment daily to meet with the working time regulations.
Drive to designated drops / premises / routed area, re-securing the load as appropriate, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
Assess the clearance of drop offs, drop off, check parcels against delivery notes, gain sign off of order with the customer to complete that individual drop off.
Assist with customer queries, resolving where possible and then feedback to head office as appropriate.
Collect and advise on future orders / damages / returns / collections and complete appropriate paperwork.
Remove the loaded containers off the bays and replace with empty containers to ensure the efficient loading and distribution of goods to meet with the daily distribution plan.
Report damage of empty containers to transport supervisor for repair.
Check full containers are safely loaded, relocate to the designated area and inform the Dispatch Supervisor they are ready for dispatch.
§Ensure the safety of empty containers on the bays so that containers can be loaded.
Co-ordinate the activities and ensure safety requirements are met, including the security of parked vehicles, in the yard to maintain an efficient working environment.
Deliver & collect company vehicles to/from the garage in order that repairs and services can be completed in a timely and efficient manor.
Redistribute containers as required over 2 depots to ensure the efficient use of the resources.
Recover vehicles in the instances of breakdowns, illness of drivers etc and return to depot.
Report on containers not correctly loaded to ensure safety on delivery.
